Florence: only 9 Km away from the farmhouse, easily reached by handy bus service. As the birthplace of Italian Renaissance, there are an infinite amount of places to visit in Florence. We limit ourselves to listing only few of these: the Uffizi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio, the Boboli Gardens, the Bargello Museum, The Academy Gallery, Santa Maria Novella, Santa Croce, Santa Maria del Carmine, the Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio, Palazzo Pitti and other historic museums of the city. |

Siena: reachable following the old Chiantigiana road (strada Chiantigiana), passing through olive groves and vineyards. An ochre coloured gothic city leaning over a rocky relief. Things to see: piazza del Campo, the “Palio” (traditional horse race), Torre del Mangia, Battistero and Cathedral, Palazzo Chigi-Saracini, the Duomo. |

Arezzo: easily reached taking the A1 highway. Things to see: antique market on the first weekend of every month, the Duomo, la Piazza Grande, where once a year the famous Giostra del Saracino takes place and the Church of San Francesco. |

Lucca: easily reached following the “autostrada del sole”. Things to see: the old walls made of pink bricks, the Cathedral of San Martino, the oval piazza with the shape of a roman amphitheatre and the Church of San Michele in Foro. |

Pisa: the old centre of maritime trading, inside its walls you can feel the atmosphere of its former importance. Things to see: Piazza dei Miracoli with its leaning
tower. |

San Gimignano: on the road to Siena a stop in San Gimignano, the town of Towers, is recommended. There you can visit the Duomo, the Town Hall and the famous torture museum. |
